Accessibility isn't an addition. It's architecture.

BTB helps architects, property owners and municipalities treat accessibility as a design question, not a checkbox. The result is buildings that endure, both legally and humanly.

Frequently asked questions

What is a TIL2-certified accessibility specialist?

A specialist certified under the Swedish building authority's requirements (BFS 2011:18, TIL 2) to review and certify that a building meets the legal requirements for accessibility and usability. BTB's founder Amanda Åkerlind is a certified specialist, cert. no. TIL10491.

What services does BTB offer?

We handle building permit documentation, construction design and accessibility consulting, from the first sketch to a finished building. We take on work for both private and public clients across Sweden.

When do I need to bring in an accessibility specialist?

New builds and renovations of public premises and apartment buildings often require a certified accessibility statement for the building permit and final approval. It pays to involve a specialist early, during the design phase. Accessibility is far cheaper to solve on the drawings than in a finished building.

Where does BTB operate?

BTB is based in Kalmar and takes on projects throughout Sweden.

What does it cost to hire BTB?

The first conversation is free. Send us a short description of your project and we will come back with an approach and a quote scaled to its scope.

What do building permit documents include?

Typically floor plans, sections, elevations and a site plan, plus any supplementary documents and help with the application itself and liaison with the municipality.
