BTB — Bottorp Accessibility and Construction Consulting — strives to make this website accessible to all users, regardless of disability. As a TIL2-certified accessibility consultant, we believe digital accessibility is as important as physical accessibility.
Accessibility Standard
This website is designed to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. WCAG is the international standard for web accessibility.
Accessibility Measures
We have taken the following measures to ensure accessibility:
- Semantic HTML structure with proper landmarks (header, nav, main, footer)
- Correct heading hierarchy (h1 through h6) on all pages
- Keyboard navigation with visible focus indicators
- Skip to content link for efficient keyboard navigation
- Color contrast meeting WCAG 2.1 AA requirements (7:1 target for body text)
- Alternative text on all informative images
- ARIA labels for navigation and interactive elements
- Support for prefers-reduced-motion for users with motion sensitivity
- Responsive design that works on all devices
- Support for Swedish characters (A, A, O) in all fonts
Technical Information
The website is built with:
- Next.js with React Server Components
- Semantic HTML5
- Tailwind CSS for responsive design
- next-intl for bilingual support (Swedish and English)
Known Limitations
We continuously work to improve accessibility. Known limitations include:
- Placeholder images on the projects page do not yet have specific alternative text
- The contact form is under development and will be fully tested with assistive technologies
